soldier?:
Now New York Giants safety Antrel Rolle did even better (or worse as the
case may be) in not only comparing himself to soldiers, but insisting that
booing him or his team would be like booing veterans coming home from war.

As a backdrop, keep in mind that it has been conclusively shown that each
$1 in higher taxes results in $1.17 of new spending. Increasing taxes on
anyone in any way will make the deficit worse, not better because Congress
in whatever the opposite of infinite wisdom is, will simply spend it on new
programs. But McCaskill insists that indeed taxes need to be raised, and if
they're not, then Americans need to pick up the pitchforks, which by the
way are used to stab people. Via Gateway Pundit:
Is it me, or did McCaskill just demonize those that itemize their taxes?
Not raising taxes on people is not "giving them money" as McCaskill
insists. It's the people's money, not hers and not that of Congress's.
Pulling even more money out of the private sector won't help the economy
either, especially since 70% of teh GDP is consumer spending. Thus the
money should stay with consumers, no?

Republicans are dead set against raising taxes in this bleak economy. It

Can we now officially call the stimulus a failure? It has made the problem
worse, not better. Keep in mind that in October of 2006 — just before the
Democrats took Congress — unemployment was 4.4%. We have now been above
9.5% for 16 straight months. Still going the wrong way thanks to hopey
changy at the wheel:
So much for the recovery summer. Or a recovery fall. Of course, the AP
doesn't dwell on the fact that the unemployment rate is essentially 10% for
almost a year and a half. They only mention such things at the end of
articles, if at all. They are still highlighting the small growth in jobs
that isn't even enough to match the population growth. As a matter of fact,
a 100,000 jobs growth in a month is the breakeven point to match jobs with
children growing into working age. Anything under 100,000 is a net loss of
jobs. From the AP via The Detroit News: Jobless rate rises to 9.8 percent
as job growth slows
The nation's unemployment rate climbed to 9.8 percent in November, a
seven-month high, as hiring slowed.
Employers added only 39,000 jobs last month, a sharp decline from the
172,000 created in October. The weakness was widespread. Retailers,
factories, construction companies, financial firms and the government all
cut jobs last month.
Private companies — the backbone of the economy — created 50,000 jobs. That
was down significantly from the 160,000 private-sector jobs created in
October and was the smallest gain since January.
With hiring so weak, the unemployment rate rose from 9.6 percent to 9.8
percent. The jobless rate has now topped 9 percent for 19 straight months,
the longest stretch on record.Obama promised the unemployment rate would
not exceed 8% if Congress gave him a $1.2 trillion (including interest)
slush fund in the form of the stimulus boondoggle:
In the bigger picture, Obama promised that 3.5 million NEW private-sector
jobs will be created by the $1.2 trillion stimulus bill ($800
billion + interest over 10 years since the US is bankrupt) by 2010.
Instead, more than 3 million jobs have been lost. Here is what has
been happening with Biden's 3-letter word since last year:

February US jobs lost: 706,000 jobs
March US jobs lost: 742,000 jobs
April US jobs lost: 545,000 jobs
May US jobs lost: 345,000 jobs

Recall that the stimulus package was supposed to stop the unemployment
rate at 8%! A crisis could become a calamity? Remember that? Here's how

Note that the blue lines are the numbers that Obama's team came up
with. So the actual unemployment rate is not only worse that what
would happen with porkulus, but even worse than was predicted without
it. The stimulus bill was and is a fraud perpetrated by Obama on the
American people to pay back his union hacks that got him elected.
Nothing more, nothing less.

Finally Wayne State University is getting a stain off its books. After
Helen Thomas demanded that Israeli Jews get out of their promised land and
go back to the ovens in Germany and Poland, WSU defiantly and absurdly
left her name on the 'Helen Thomas Spirit of Diversity Award.' In fact,
Thomas has been showered with praise since resigning getting fired.
Muslims in Dearbornistan are erecting a statue of her. And the wicked witch
of the Middle East is getting the CAIR award that completes her triple
crown of anti-Semitism. (she was also honored by a Muslim group that was
raided by the FBI) But yesterday she said this:
"Congress, the White House and Hollywood, Wall Street are owned by the
Zionists. No question, in my opinion"That was too much for WSU. Insisting
that Jews go back to the ovens was AOK, but implying that our community

This is NOT how govt is supposed to work!Ed Morrissey posted on the
Congressional Review Act just the other day. To be honest, I never heard of
it before I read Ed's post. It is a little-known act passed during the
Clinton administration that allows Congress to basically veto any
regulation put forth by executive branch agencies like the FDA, USDA, DOE,
EPA, etc. Why is this important? Because the GOP took the House, cut the
Democrat Senate majority in the Senate, and therefore Obama will try to
pass turd sandwiches like cap and trade through unaccountable bureaucrats
in said agencies bypassing Congress altogether. The news that this Act
exists and the GOP will use it is nothing short of political ninjitsu. From
The Politico:
GOP lawmakers say they want to upend a host of Environmental Protection
Agency rules by whatever means possible, including the Congressional Review
Act, a rarely used legislative tool that allows Congress to essentially
veto recently completed agency regulations.
The law lets sponsors skip Senate filibusters, meaning Republicans don't
have to negotiate with Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) for a floor vote
or secure the tricky 60 votes typically needed to do anything in the Senate.
The House doesn't have the same expedited procedures, but it's assumed the
GOP majority would have little trouble mustering the votes needed to pass
disapproval resolutions.
A spate of contentious EPA rules that are soon to be finalized could be
prime targets, including the national air quality standard for ozone, toxic
emission limits for industrial boilers and a pending decision about whether
to regulate coal ash as hazardous waste.
"We're not going to let EPA regulate what they've been unable to legislate.
And if I'm chairman, we're going to have a very aggressive, proactive
schedule," Rep. Fred Upton (R-Mich.), the likely incoming chairman of the
Energy and Commerce Committee, told POLITICO.I don't trust Fred "ban the
lightbulb" Upton any farther than I can throw him. There really is nothing
like voter repudiation at the ballot box to scare Congresscritters into
action though.

Alex Roman, the graphic designer who created the ad, dismisses suspicions
that the shots aren't pure computer-generated imagery: "Yep, it's all CG.
I tried to put some live-footage shots but I ran out of time so CGI did
