Ironically, Obama helped ban one of Thomas Edison's inventions - the

ObamaCare then? And the financial regulatory deform? And pretty much
everything passed since January 2009!

"As a doctor, I have taken care of families for over a quarter of a
century. I know that this law is bad for patients, it's bad for providers
-- the nurses and the doctors who care for those patients -- and it's bad
for taxpayers.... Your health care decisions should be decided in your
doctor's office -- not a Washington office. Nothing should come between you
and your doctor.... Republicans will fight to repeal this job-destroying
law and replace it with patient centered reforms."
"Earlier this week, the newly elected House of Representatives immediately
kept its promise to you, the American people. It did so by voting to repeal
the President's health care spending law."
"Now it's the Senate's turn. The President's party has wasted millions of
your taxpayer dollars trying to persuade you to support this law. Well, in
spite of the mailings and the misleading television ads, they have failed.
A recent poll showed that a majority of Americans still want this law

closer to victory in the fight for a health care policy that puts Americans
first -- not Washington. Our job won't be done until we repeal and replace
this bad law."The video:

Video: Olbermann's last sign-off. Quits MSNBC. GOOD RIDDANCE!!!
Good riddance to America's seething ball of hate:
Keith Olbermann announced on the air tonight that "Countdown" will not
return to MSNBC thus making this evening's broadcast his final one. This is
his last sign-off with thanks to his entire staff and a dramatic reading.
NBC has released the following statement:
"MSNBC and Keith Olbermann have ended their contract. The last broadcast of
"Countdown with Keith Olbermann" will be this evening. MSNBC thanks Keith
for his integral role in MSNBC's success and we wish him well in his future
endeavors."You won't be missed!
UPDATE: Lots of updates over at HotAir: Breaking: Olbermann announces the
end of "Countdown"; Update: Settled contract with MSNBC "late this week";
Update: "Stealth move"
Update: Gotta say, assuming that they fired him, he reacted with a lot
more dignity than I would have expected. No indignant Beale-esque
jeremiad about corrupt corporate powers who can't stand to hear "truth"?
Update: A half hour after the announcement and still nothing on Twitter or
from any of the major cable news blogs about what happened. Evidently
this is a shock to everyone, including people with good sources.
Update: Greenroomer Patrick Ishmael writes, "I guess @keitholbermann is
taking this whole 'No Palin February' thing pretty hard."
Update: The Chicago Tribune notes, "The surprise announcement comes as
telecommunications giant Comcast is said to be near to closing its deal to
acquire control of MSNBC parent NBC Universal from General Electric." A
network spokesman tells the AP that that had nothing to do with it.
Update: Anderson Cooper is using the F-word, but it's unclear if he's
speculating or has the scoop.
Update: A shrewd prediction from Greg Pollowitz. Olby will be back on your
screen, but it might not be your TV screen.
Update: If you want to follow along, here's the "p2″ Twitter feed, which
captures tweets from progressives. They're … not amused.
Update: Here's the best information we have thus far, which still ain't
The host, who has had a stormy relationship with the management of the
network for some time, especially since he was suspended for two days last
November, came to an agreement with NBC's corporate management late this
week to settle his contract and step down.More:
MSNBC announced that "The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell" would replace
"Countdown" at 8 p.m., with "The Ed Show" with Ed Schultz taking Mr.
O'Donnell's slot at 10 p.m. Mr. Olbermann did not discuss any future
plans, but NBC executives said one term of his settlement will keep him
from moving to another network for an extended period of time. He's not
going to Fox, needless to say, and after so many horror stories from
people who've worked with him, presumably even CNN isn't that desperate
for a ratings boost. Where could he go?
Update: Via Politico, the plot thickens:
The mutually agreed-upon departure was a stealth move, MSNBC insiders told
POLITICO, with many top executives and on-air talent kept out of the loop
as the decision was made. It came, one insider said, "Out of the …
blue!"Yeah, really? Halfway through his contract, both he and MSNBC
suddenly upped and decided that everyone would be better off if the guy
with the biggest ratings on the network found a new job?Like I said, lots
of updates over there...

John Dingell (D-MI) again repeats the lie: rhetoric has created "a hideous
unproductive climate which I think is very dangerous." Flashback: Dingell
called radio host terrorist last year, likened tea party to KKK
A week ago, John Dingell (D-MI) went on the House floor and sanctimoniously
lectured on rhetoric:
I pointed this out in my prior post on the matter: John Dingell (D-MI)
blames Palin, GOP for rhetoric leading to AZ shooting. Flashback: Dingell
links tea party to KKK, called radio talkshow host Frank Beckmann a
terrorist. I should have sent the link to Dingell's office, because he went
for a to-for after announcing that he will be re-running in 2012 for his
34,879th term: Dingell, 84, to seek re-election
In referencing the Tucson, Ariz., shootings that wounded Rep. Gabrielle
Giffords, Dingell said rhetoric has created "a hideous unproductive climate
which I think is very dangerous."John Dingell 2011 should have a sit down
heart-to-heart with John Dingell 2009 and 2010. And never mind that the
Arizona shooter was a left-wing lunatic who's favorite book was the
Communist Manifesto. His favorite YouTube video is of the American flag
being burned. Or that he's described by his classmates as a "left-wing
pothead." That aside, the prior Dingell called local radio talk show host
Frank Beckmann a terrorist for opposing ObamaCare:

Media Mission Accomplished: Palin Unfavorable Rating At All-Time High
How bad was the media malpractice against particularly Sarah Palin, using
the Arizona shooting as an excuse? This bad: Media Reality Check: By 8-to-1
Margin, Networks Target Conservative Speech after Tucson Shooting
If the media want to have an honest debate about civility, then journalists
need to confront the real and harsh examples of liberals engaging in the
sort of rhetoric they ostensibly deplore. And the first topic for that
debate needs to be the highly un-civil way the Left and many in the media
suggested mainstream conservatives and the Tea Party were somehow culpable
for the horrible acts of January 8.
And if they choose to continue furthering the Left's baseless allegations
designed to smear conservatives, the media's self-appointed civility cops
are themselves contributing to the coarsening of American politics — the
very thing they purport to decry.Noel Sheppard focuses the media's hatred
of Palin in particular: Palin Bashing Reaches New High As Does Her
From January 8 through January 16, CNN ran 80 stories that included the
name of the former Alaska governor.
That's roughly nine pieces per day, during which her name was mentioned
approximately 664 times or over 70 times every 24 hours!
As few if any of these mentions were positive, is there any wonder a new
CNN/Opinion Research poll found 56 percent of all Americans now have an
unfavorable view of Sarah Palin - an all-time high?
...During the same time period (chosen to coincide with CNN's polling
period ending January 16), MSNBC ran 25 reports on Palin mentioning her
name a staggering 474 times during those segments.
Those figures are even more astounding when you consider that MSNBC only
transcribes weekday prime time programs. Just imagine the kind of pounding
Palin was taking from these shills during the weekends and outside of prime
MSNBC's sister network NBC also was involved in the attacks logging 23
reports with 126 mentions of Palin.
NPR did 20 stories with 100 mentions; ABC 17 and 62; CBS 14 and 59.
Add it all up, and these outlets did 179 reports about Palin in those
sixteen days (remember - this only includes weekday primetime for MSNBC!)
mentioning her name a staggering 1485 times.
With her unfavorable rating now at 56 percent, I guess these
so-called "news" outlets should all be saying "Mission Accomplished!"It's
all part of a coordinated effort. From Legal Insurrection: We Just
Witnessed The Media's Test Run To Re-Elect Barack Obama
If Republicans want to know exactly what not to do to win in 2012, then

ReasonTV: Hey - what ever happened to that anti-war movement?
Actually, that question got answered in 2009: Liberal Media Bias: Amber

that the MSM won't report on them anymore! As part of that prior post I had
In an appearance August 18 on WLS radio in Chicago, ABC News anchor Charles
Gibson was asked about anti-war protester Cindy Sheehan's plans to travel
to Martha's Vineyard next week, where she will protest the Iraq and
Afghanistan wars while President Obama is vacationing there. Gibson, whose
newscast and network featured Sheehan when she led anti-war protests
outside President Bush's Texas ranch in 2005, answered, "Enough
already."Yes - enough already. Funny how that happened right after Obama
was elected, no? In addition, Obama's war policy is remarkably similar to
Bush's. Iraq? Afghanistan? The closing of Guantanamo? Asks ReasonTV:
Even as President Obama maintains close to 50,000 troops in Iraq and
continues to escalate and expand the war in Afghanistan, the antiwar
movement in America continues to shrink.

Jurassic Park: Dingell, Conyers to run for 30th, 25th terms
In case you believe the evolutionists that Dinosaurs died out millions of
years ago, 2 are still lurking around the allies of Detroit. Dingell has
been in Congress since my parents were children. He is the longest-serving
member of Congress... ever. Who's the 2nd longest tenured Congressman

running in 2012. Again. From The Detroit News: Dingell, 84, to seek
John Dingell, 84, plans to run for a 30th term and extend his reign as the
dean of the U.S. House.
"It's the greatest job in the world," Dingell, D-Dearborn, said today in
acknowledging he's fund-raising for a 2012 re-election. "I can help people
and … make things better, and I represent some of the finest people on
earth. The people in southeast Michigan are nothing short of
wonderful."Dingell has been the lynch pin in promoting socialism since the
Triassic period. Socialism helps no one. It simply de-humanizes the
individual into some sort of collectivist hodgepodge where the ruling class
calls the shots.
...Dingell, who began his career on Capitol Hill at age 29 when he filled
the seat of his father, faced a tougher than usual campaign in 2010 against
Rob Steele, a tea party favored Republican. I think the only way Dingell
will ever leave the Capitol is feet-first. Same for Conyers. Speaking of, I
heard on the radio that he too is going to seek re-election although it
hasn't been made official yet. Here's to the 2 relic fossils that have been
fighting for socialism since a combined several decades before I was born:

So after that, you figure that the third time's the charm and he'll finally

To his credit, Anderson Cooper dressed him down something fierce. But I
can't help but wonder if it wasn't more for political expediency than
actual moral indignation at the Nazi analogy. Cooper is, after all, the one
that popularized the homosexual slur "teabagger" against the tea party, a
shameful act that he himself offered only a weak non-apology apology. He
might want to dress himself down for that one.

there is no such thing as a pro-life Democrat, only liberal Democrats
serving in right-of-center districts. Oh they may claim to be pro-life,
but the difference between them and true pro-lifers is that the issue is
not just one of several competing against each other. No. For the
true-pro-lifer, abortion holds absolute veto power. It's not the same as
single-issue voting, mind you, as pro-lifers are just as concerned about
other issues such as the economy, taxes, healthcare, etc. It's just that
no other issue would goad the pro-life politician, or voter for that
matter, into casting a vote against the unborn no matter how benign it
appears on its face. I have written about this issue extensively on this
blog, with these few posts as mere examples:
